AC Milan management is looking to reinforce the team available to the Italian coach, Stefano Pioli. One of the roles that may need to be strengthened is the right-wing which is currently occupied by Alexis Saelemaekers.
The Rossoneri directors, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have been searching for opportunities in the transfer market in order to find a good solution that would provide more quality and power in that matter.
According to what is reported by Calciomercato.com (who are citing English sources), the Rossoneri have set their sights on a former teammate of Rafael Leao at Lille who is currently playing for English Premier League side Arsenal: Nicolas Pépé.
For Mikel Arteta, the right-winger in discussion is behind Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Smith Rowe. He is 26 years old and is yet to score a goal in the Premier League as he only has one assist in that competition besides 2 other and one goal in the EFL Cup. In total, in this season so far, he appeared in 9 matches. AC Milan are watching him carefully.
Italian website Il Milanista also have reported the news and write that Milan are already plotting a January move. For the record, Arsenal have signed Nicolas Pepe on an 80-million-euro transfer move in the summer of 2019 from Lille, but it seems that he may be available on the market for less than that amount.
