AC Milan star, Brahim Diaz, is set to play tonight a very important Champions League fixture against Atlético Madrid, defending champions of La Liga.
The former Real Madrid talent spoke to El Pais in an interview and said the following words:
"My role? I am a player who does very well between the lines, as a midfielder, but also in a normal 4-3-3, both on the wing and as a false nine. I am comfortable, I am lucky to be able to use both feet, I can turn both sides. When you get the ball, the defenders don't know whether to get out because they can leave room behind. If they get out, they can leave the attacker alone, and if they don't get out, then I have a chance to turn around and attack one-on-one. It is a position that the defenders struggle to mark."
"I like that contact. It's not that I'm a strong player, but I'm quick in that situation. Having the lower body so low, as defenders are usually tall, when you turn around and are this skilled, it is harder for them to turn around and know where the opponent is."
On Ibrahimovic:
"I would take from him many things. I would like to have his ability to score, his ability to understand football. That was gained through experience. He gives good advice, he always knows where the ball will go. I'd like to have that timing with and without the ball: he is very complete, in the box he's unpredictable", said Brahim Diaz.
On the game against Atlético Madrid:
"Against Atlético in Milan we played an incredible match, and the two goals came in the end, we will go there to play our game and win."
On his future with Real Madrid:
"Now I'm in Milan, focused on Milan and here I want to give my best. I follow them from afar, but now I'm here, I'm enjoying what I like, that is playing football for a great club like Milan."
