AC Milan faced a strong and determined Sassuolo team, Alessio Dionisi's men were able to beat the Rossoneri at the San Siro 3-1. Coach Stefano Pioli will have to work on many aspects in order to evaluate the loss and try to fix the mistakes and avoid them next time.
The Rossoneri boss said the following to the media:
"We lacked clarity. We missed situations in the opponent area. We lacked the right movement and the last pass. We had to manage the advantage better. We made a mistake. In the last two Serie A games we suffered seven goals. Something is not working."
Pioli continued:
"We lost balls that we had to manage better. Florenzi? He makes himself available. At first, I used him at higher position, but then he asked me 'Mister, when are you going to play me as a full-back?'. He is an important player who is growing."
On the approach:
"I don't think the approach was wrong. Interpretation? Yes. We must work to grow and improve our flaws. Do we want to win again? Did we make a lot of effort in Champions League? No justification. We were built for dual obligations. Five players who weren't in Madrid played today. We mishandled the lead. Let's continue our work so we become stronger", Pioli told DAZN.
