It was a terrible match for AC Milan against Sassuolo yesterday. The Rossoneri fans were left frustrated with how the match went on at the San Siro. The Milan players did not show their qualities and were therefore handed a loss, despite taking an early lead.
Corriere dello Sport discusses the game from the perspective of the referee and reveal that Sassuolo's young star Raspadori should have been shown a red card for a strong intervention on Ismael Bennacer, because the action taken by the Italian was reckless.
Theo Hernandez, though, did deserve a red card too when he pushed Davide Frattesi, he could have been shown a second yellow card (he was already booked by then).
AC Milan were supposed to earn a penalty kick after a handball by Ferrari. But, VAR and the referee Manganiello had a different opinion on the matter.
As for Romagnoli's red card, it was the correct decision because he was the last man in the Milan squad in that chance. Brahim Diaz' alleged handball was also not a penalty for Sassuolo in the first half.
