Discussing the loss against Liverpool, La Gazzetta dello Sport granted the following ratings to the AC Milan players:
The best player on the pitch was Sandro Tonali who was rewarded with a 6 for his efforts. Pierre Kalulu, Ismael Bennacer, Alexis Saelemaekers, Alessandro Florenzi have also been giving the same rating.
A 5.5 was given to Fikayo Tomori who scored a goal but made some mistakes that made the team suffer. Same rating was handed to his partner at the back, Alessio Romagnoli. More was also expected from Rade Krunic and Brahim Diaz who were shown a 5.5.
The rest of the AC Milan team, however, were given 5 ratings. We are talking about Theo Hernandez, Franck Kessié, Junior Messias and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as they all struggled to make the difference.
The newspaper chose goalkeeper Mike Maignan as the worst player on the pitch against Liverpool as he could have done better in terms of parrying the ball.
