Former Crotone player, Junior Messias, who is now starting to create a name for himself at AC Milan, has granted an interview to the microphones of SportMediaset to talk about his Champions League experience with the Rossoneri:
"In my opinion, the Champions League performances have always been of the highest level. We have faced really strong teams. We need to be aware of what we have done and try to bring this into the league. We were a bit sad to exit the competition and we wanted to keep going. Now, however, we must raise our heads and bet everything on the championship."
Who was your idol as a child?
"My idol as a child was Ronaldo the phenomenon: for me he was football."
Junior Messias on his ambitions:
"I want to show that I can stay in Serie A. A player shouldn't be evaluated after a match, after two matches: you have to wait for the whole championship to see what happens. I am trying to improve because I am not yet 100% because I have not yet shown what I am capable of. I'm trying to get fit, I hope to succeed as soon as possible."
On the Scudetto dream:
"We are first so we have to believe in it. Milan is a team that must always win. We believe in it and we will do everything, but there are other strong teams. We have to fight and think match by match. The league is still long. We have seen how there are teams that put us in difficulty, even those that are thought to be inferior. We have to improve on that and always try to score points at home."
On what fans expect from him, being Brazilian:
"Now, football has changed. There are many European players and fewer South Americans. I do not feel this responsibility, I feel I am doing what I know how to do. If one is Brazilian Argentinian or Italian, it changes little", declared Junior Messias.
On his favourite position:
"I always try to do my best for the team, wherever I am on the pitch."
