In the transfer market window, AC Milan managing directors do not only have to think about signing a reinforcement, but they might also need to take a look at potential exits.
Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are evaluating options and opportunities in the market while also thinking of ways to balance the squad. There are a few players who can leave such as Andrea Conti. The player is forgotten by the coaching staff as he does not fit the plans of the coach. His contract expires in June 2022. But, Milan could choose to let him leave for free in January already. Leading the race for him is Sampdoria, then comes Genoa.

The second player who may be leaving in January's window too is Samu Castillejo. In the last summer, AC Milan had put a pricetag between 8 to 10 million euros to let him go. They want to monetise from a possible sale and Genoa are now looking for a winger who could fit in Shevchenko's 4-3-3 formation module. The former Villareal player has understood that his future is elsewhere as he has no place in Pioli's team.

As for Daniel Maldini, for now, the plan is to keep him in Pioli's squad. The same goes for Pietro Pellegri who is currently out due to a muscle injury.
