The January transfer window is almost upon us. AC Milan's sporting director Frederic Massara and his colleague Paolo Maldini who is the technical club director, are weighing up their options to see how they can upgrade the quality of the team.
There are some gaps to fill in Stefano Pioli's team and the club managers will try to intervene to fix some issues. In fact, the legendary former captain of the Rossoneri club, now-turned director, is keeping an eye on several profiles. One of the attacking midfielders who can bring a lot of quality is Mikkel Damsgaard of Sampdoria.
The talented youngster is 21 years old and can play as a playmaker as well as being a left-winger. So far, he only played 8 games (7 in Serie A and one in the Italian cup). He didn't appear as much as one would expect due to injuries.
Certainly, Damsgaard's injury is affecting his growth path and the attention of the big teams has also waned. AC Milan's Paolo Maldini, however, believes a lot in the talented player and his potential.

To convince Sampdoria to let him go, the club could consider an exchange operation which sees Rade Krunic and the Dane exchange shirts. Krunic is finding much space in Pioli's plans due to injuries of Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao, but the club directors would be willing to let him go if it means signing Damsgaard.
