There is no peace at the Rossoneri household, where relations between Massimiliano Allegri and Giorgio Furlani remain strained after the executive completely ignored the coach during the winter transfer window. This was reported this morning by Il Giornale, which adds that, in order to stay, the Livorno-born manager is demanding autonomy and a say in transfer dealings; otherwise, he will look elsewhere (perhaps as the new Italy national team coach?).
The Rossoneri CEO, on the other hand, had expected a more competitive AC Milan side in the title race, given the absence of European competitions, as well as a more entertaining style of play. For this reason, he is said to be casting an eye on two other managers: Vincenzo Italiano, who was his first choice last summer, and Raffaele Palladino, who is currently taking his time over a contract renewal with Atalanta until 2029.
The Bologna coach is also highly regarded by Tony D'Amico, who could replace Igli Tare as sporting director if Gerry Cardinale decides to back Furlani’s approach.
