Venezia started the game with the following lineup:
4-3-1-2: Romero; Mazzocchi, Svoboda, Ceccaroni, Haps; Cuisance, Busio, Ampadu; Aramu; Henry, Okereke.
As for the Rossoneri, they took the field with the following lineup:
4-2-3-1: Maignan; Florenzi, Kalulu, Gabbia, Hernández; Tonali, Bakayoko; Saelemaekers, Díaz, Leão; Ibrahimović.
The match started out very well with the Rossoneri scoring the first goal in the second minute of the game. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had an easy goal after Rafael Leao served him the ball on a golden platter.
The second goal came thanks to Theo Hernandez who used his speed after a good threaded through ball was sent to him by Rafael Leao in the 48th minute.
The French full-back continued to perform at the highest level as he managed to also convert a penalty in the 59th minute.
The former Real Madrid full-back showed so much quality as the defenders were unable to find an answer to his dribbles.
The red and black faithful dominated throughout the game and the red card that Venezia received in the 58th minute made the match unfold in a much easier way.
Sandro Tonali continued to also show his worth and potential as he had a great game on a tactical and physical level. But, the former Brescia talent was booked and will therefore miss the next league game against Spezia. He should return to face Serie A rivals Juventus, however.
This game, was almost flawless for the AC Milan side as a unit. Now, there are many positives to take away as Stefano Pioli and his analysts will surely take note of while preparing for the next challenge which is the cup fixture against Genoa.
