Today's edition of Tuttosport explain how AC Milan management is still evaluating the situation at Milanello and that despite the injuries of Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori, there is still no rush to sign a centre-back.
According to the daily Turin-based newspaper, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are currently betting on two youngsters: Matteo Gabbia and Pierre Kalulu as central defenders. The truth is that Sven Botman is no longer a target for the Italian giants due to high financial demands. As for Abdou Diallo, PSG's sporting director, Leonardo, is also asking for a lot of money: 25 million euros.
An option that remains for the club is signing Eric Bailly from Manchester United on loan with the right to exercise an option to buy. However, there are two other profiles being followed:
- 19-year-old French centre-back who plays for Montpellier in Ligue 1: Maxime Esteve.
- 19-year-old Italian defender of Empoli: Mattia Viti.
- 22-year-old Spanish star of Getafe Jorge Cuenca who is on loan from Villareal.
For the summer's transfer window, though, AC Milan's idea is to try again for Lille's Dutch star Sven Botman, Torino's Brazilian central Gleison Bremer or try to sign Belgian starlet of Bologna Arthur Theate.
