During the previous summer's transfer market window, Romain Faivre was heavily linked with a move to the AC Milan club in Serie A. The player pushed to sign with the red and black faithful and was very clear about his desire to be at Milanello in more than one occasion.
In the summer, the deal failed to go through and Brest decided to take him off the transfer list. In the winter, he was closer to make a move to Olympique de Lyon as the Rossoneri had other ideas for the market window with only Marko Lazetic signing to reinforce the Men's First Team.
Faivre then decided to join Lyon. Now, he has granted an interview to the microphones of La Provence and had this to say:
"It was flattering to know that Milan were interested in me. It didn't happen and it was a blessing in disguise. I said to myself: 'You are lucky to be in Ligue 1, in Brest, to play almost every match, take advantage of it. There will be an opportunity to go to a big club.' Lyon have been interested in me for some time, but I let my representatives take care of it. They met Bruno Cheyrou and Mr. Ponsot, in view of a transfer in the summer but the departure of Bruno Guimarães made things easier this winter."
Romain Faivre added:
"I came here to play, Lyon signed me for my qualities and I want to show what I can do."
