AC Milan suffered a recent blow in their Serie A trophy race this season by drawing a 0-0 with Bologna at the San Siro stadium in front of 70 thousand fans. Stefano Pioli's side were not able to penetrate the defensive department of the opponents. Despite 33 shots, the attack struggled to find the winner.

As we have told you before in our recent insight, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are unhappy with how Junior Messias has been performing lately. The right-flank lacks a lot of quality in comparison to the left. The club directors, as we have explained, are now seriously thinking of the next winger who can replace the 30-year-old Brazilian.

According to a report shared by Calciomercatoweb.it, AC Milan have set sights on a new name to take over at San Siro and his name is Gelson Martins.
Gelson Martins is 26 years old. He is a Portuguese right-winger who plays for Monaco with a contract valid until June 2024. So far this season he has 5 goals and 3 assists to his name after 43 appearances with the French outfit (2603 minutes played overall in all competitions).
The former Sporting Lisbon and Atlético Madrid player is valued at around 15 to 18 million euros. AC Milan could sign him outright at that price range or they could opt to try to land him on loan with a buy-option.
