AC Milan could be the club to offer an 'escape route' for Chelsea Belgian star striker Romelu Lukaku.
The 28-year-old attacker has not scored a goal in the league or the Champions League in 2022. It is clear that his stay at Stamford Bridge has become complicated. He never confirmed himself for the Blues with the same qualities and confidence that were displayed at San Siro with Inter.

AC Milan, as revealed already days ago, could have their future changed in terms of ownership as Bahrain-based investment fund InvestCorp would be looking to purchase the Rossoneri from Elliott Management. Once the takeover is completed, the new owners could kickstart their era with a statement signing such as Romelu Lukaku, reports Goal.com.
In any case, however, the former Everton and Inter star is still an expensive deal to make but it is not impossible. Chelsea are going through a delicate moment in terms of ownership and it is possible that the new owners that purchase the London-based club would look to cut their losses and let go of Romelu Lukaku who has not been performing to the best of his abilities.
