Paolo Maldini spoke to the microphones of Milan TV on the way back from the Lazio game to Milano. Here are the director's words:
"I would like to express a very simple concept, but one that I feel mine, as a Milan player: I am proud, I am proud of the team, of the staff, of our kind of behaviour and of what the fans are giving us at this moment, which is sincerely an important emotion, it is the gist of our work, it is what makes us feel good and allows us to live with an emotion that is sometimes unstable but which causes us very pleasant sensations."
He added:
"I believe that when there are seasons of this kind, the goal is to try to do the best possible. Having this great chance, we have to aim very high. Maybe someone at the beginning of the year didn't even put us in the top 4. But, that's something we must use as a motivation. The numbers speak for themselves. We know that to be here, among the first 2 of the last 2 years, we must maintain this spirit of sacrifice, which for me is our most important characteristic."
Paolo Maldini concluded:
"If we are here, we owe it to the fact that we have always believed in it, even when perhaps we did not communicate in this direction, we have always thought about it. It is not a goal that must be overshadowed because Milan have won two league titles in the last 20 years. When you get the chance, you have to try it all the way, then if things don't go well, you know you've done your best."
