AC Milan managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara had more than just one reason to watch Empoli take on Inter at the San Siro. It is true that the Serie A race is very important, but perhaps they were also keeping an eye on an impressive profile as well.

In fact, and this is according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, AC Milan would be interested in Empoli's 20-year-old Albanian midfielder Kristjan Asllani. His performances this season have not gone unnoticed. In the most recent game against Inter (which ended in a victory for the Nerazzurri 4-2), he scored a goal.
The Rossoneri management moved before other interested clubs for the talented player. The idea is that he is signed and left at Empoli on loan for one more season, in a deal similar to that made with Bordeaux for Yacine Adli last summer.

Kristjan Asllani is not only liked by AC Milan, though. Serie A rivals Inter and Napoli are keen on him as well. These three clubs have excellent relations with Empoli and it remains to be seen who will land the talent. Asllani's will should also be important as he wants a chance to prove himself and realise his ambitions, he wants to play.
For Empoli's part, he is valued at around 10 million euros, but the pricetag could go up in the summer, writes Alfredo Pedullà in his website.
