The Scudetto campaign was the last season for Franck Kessié in Rossonero. He chose to not renew his contract with the Rossoneri in search of a richer contract and a playing experience elsewhere. The Ivorian midfielder has an agreement with FC Barcelona, but a deal is not yet made official due to the financial issues that the La Liga giants are going through.
As per The Athletic, FC Barcelona continue to find ways to cut their costs and they have been putting pressure on some players to reduce their salaries.
Despite that, Barca have already agreed to sign two free agents, Andres Christensen and Franck Kessie, and the 19-year-old playmaker Pablo Torre from Racing Santander. "As things stand, none of these players can be registered. Nor can the club renew Ousmane Dembele’s contract, even if the French attacker agrees to a new deal. That is before even considering more expensive transfer targets like Lewandowski, the Leeds winger Raphinha or Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde."
