Mattia Caldara's adventure with AC Milan is set to end this summer. After a loan spell spent at Venezia in the last season, he returned to Milanello but he will not remain for too long there as he is not part of Pioli's plans.
In fact, the former Juventus and Atalanta player has interest from a few Serie A clubs.
According to the latest news report shared by Il Corriere dello Spot in today's edition, Bologna are interested in him as they see him as a replacement for Gary Medel who last year took the starting position in the center of defense. The alternative is Malick Thiaw, who has been also linked with a move to AC Milan recently. Sampdoria and Spezia are also understood to be on him
According to La Nazione, Spezia are ahead of Bologna and Sampdoria in the race to secure Caldara's arrival. They have obtained the 'ok' from the player. Sampdoria, on the other hand, seem to be furthest away from the race. But, they might make an attempt again in the next few days. What we know for sure, however, is that Caldara will not be stay at Milan.
