After a long period of negotiation in talks, Charles De Ketelaere can in fact consider himself a new Milan player. It is a great coup worth around 35 million euros, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport in today's print edition.
The negotiations were very difficult but the factor that helped close the deal was the insertion of a percentage on any future resale which is set at 12.5%. However, this clause would only be triggered if the Rossoneri sell De Ketelaere for a higher figure than they are buying him for, that is 32 million (the fixed transfer fee without bonuses).
The Italian newspaper have revealed that the net yearly wage of De Ketelaere will be 2.3 million euros. AC Milan prove to be a unique case in Italy: no one has spent these figures without first having to sell someone important. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara do not intend to stop just yet.
