Alessio Romagnoli chose to join Lazio on a free transfer after the expiry of his contract with AC Milan. Lazio president Claudio Lotito and director Igli Tare both spoken about the signing of the Italian central defender in a press conference in which they presented the former AS Roma and Milan player as well as Matias Vecino.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito said the following:
"The director always followed Romagnoli, cultivating the relationship with the boy to make this dream come true. We started in a certain way, then we decided to insert two elements of relational depth as well. Alessio came to Lazio because he has these colours in his heart and I thought that he could be an added value. What was missing in Lazio is that at certain moments, we could not keep the tension high. It won't happen with him (Romagnoli) and Vecino, they are used to certain types of matches. With these grafts you can compete at high levels."
Lazio director Igli Tare had this to say about Alessio Romagnoli and Matias Vecino:
"It's a very nice day, we are pleased to present two great signings that can enrich the team's value. Let's start with Alessio: a child-fan dream comes true. For many years, he had this idea. After having met many times, today we are happy to present him. He has great experience, he was the captain of Milan: he will be a strong player on and off the pitch. He and Vecino are champions who will give us a great hand."
