AC Milan managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are hoping they can keep the core of the squad that won the Scudetto. After the exit of defensive midfielder Franck Kessié, the club does not want to lose more important players and that is why there are movements to try to keep key players happy with new contracts.

In this context, Tuttosport point out that the work is ongoing to try to lock Ismael Bennacer down with a new deal as his current one expires in June 2024.
The Algerian midfielder is now very important after the exit of Kessié. He is now the partner of Sandro Tonali in midfield. Maldini and Massara are working to extend the agreement until 2026 or possibly even 2027. The AC Milan club is ready to almost double Ismael Bennacer's yearly net salary from 1.7 to 3.5 million euros net per season.
