As reported by Tuttosport, AC Milan are now focused on trying to bring a midfielder to the team of Stefano Pioli before the end of the current summer transfer market window.
As per the Italian newspaper, the Rossoneri club managing directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have set their sights on Joao Gomes of Flamengo for the midfield.
The player in question is Brazilian, 21 years of age, right-footed and has a valid contract until December 2025. He is appreciated by the Italian champions, but the pricetag is deemed higher than the evaluation estimated by Maldini and Massara.
Jean Onana of Bordeaux is getting closer to Spezia instead and the AC Milan alternative track instead is Wolfsburg's Aster Vranckx whom Atalanta also likes.
