AC Milan's forward, Olivier Giroud, the man with the decisive goals who came in through today with the winner, spoke to Sky Sport Italia. Here are his words:
"It's a very nice goal, a nice pass from Sandro. We wanted to win this match, we stayed energized until the end. It is important that we have 3 more points, but I am angry because I forgot that I was booked."
Is the win tonight a response to Napoli's victory vs Atalanta?
"I was thinking that this match reminded me of last year, but this time we won. We saw a great team spirit until the end, we believed in it. We are happy."
Giroud on his relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimovic:
"We have a brotherly relationship, we are there to give the team our experience. Let's try to bring out the best in young people by setting an example on the pitch. Maybe now I'm angry, maybe in an hour I'll be better. The important thing was the three points."
Is it true that cried in the tunnel?
"I was angry and I was silent. I did my job, I put Sandro's beautiful ball on the net."
36 years old, but you still get carried away with emotions...
"Football is like this: with the adrenaline and the joy of winning the goal after a difficult game. In my head, I am still a child (laughs). On Tuesday, I hope we return to Milan with the three points."
Is this the best time of your career?
"Best? I don't know, but there are always moments when you are in the right place at the right time: I tried to do what I know how to do in front of the goal. I haven't scored for 5 Serie A games, I was also a little pissed off. I always try to keep my confidence high and do more in training."
Giroud, for how long will you continue to play?
"I don't know, until my body says it's enough."
