Speaking to the microphones of those at La Gazzetta dello Sport, former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has commented on the importance of Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer:
"I remember Pioli's words in the summer, he had foreseen it. Bennacer has a great ability to manage the ball , freeing Tonali, who with him can concentrate on his best: the dynamic qualities of coverage of the field. The growth of the two goes hand in hand. Being a midfielder in this Milan is more difficult than in my day. Pioli asks a lot, the midfielders have to cover the insertions and be defensively careful."
Ambrosini on Sandro Tonali:
"In the action leading to Giroud's goal (vs Spezia), he impressed me. The assist was born from the desire to get rid of the opponent and always try. It's like if he had rebelled against the call which cancelled his great goa land this is what those who have leadership do."
