AC Milan's directors, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara want to reach an agreement with the agent of Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer for the contract renewal. The former Empoli player's deal with the club expires in June 2024. But, he's not the only player on the radar of the club management as there is also Rafael Leao.
Regarding the situation of the two, Sky Sport Italia's Manuele Baiocchini said the following words:
"This is the moment in which the Milan executives can think about contract renewals, in particular those of Leao and Baennacer on which they have been working for some time. The Algerian midfielder's situation seems to be simpler because his new signature would meet the AC Milan standards for the most important players. For Bennacer it shouldn't go beyond 3.5 million euros net per season. For Leao, Milan would not like to exceed 6 million. It's a complicated situation also because there are some top clubs on him such as Chelsea, PSG and even some Spanish teams. The usual optimism filters through Milan, but at the same time also the awareness of how complicated it is to reach an agreement with the Portuguese."
