Ismael Bennacer's representative, Enzo Raiola, met earlier today with the managers of the AC Milan club. The topic of discussion was the contract renewal as the Rossoneri directors are trying to untie the knot leading to an extension.
The Algerian's contract expires in June 2024. Today's meeting was exploratory with the new agent, writes Calciomercato.com. But, the request was quite clear: the player wants to earn a new salary around 4 to 4.5 million euros net per season, close to what Theo Hernandez receives currently.
AC Milan and the midfielder are willing to reach an agreement. But, the Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on this situation. There will be further meetings between Milan and Bennacer's camp to try to reduce the bridge the gap between the financial request and what the Italian giants are trying to offer. As of now, the difference which stands between the Serie A reigning champions and the former Empoli talent is at 500 or 600 thousand euros.
