AC Milan's technical area director, Paolo Maldini, and his colleague who is the sports director, Frederic Massara, have set their sights on improving the team of Stefano Pioli in view of the next summer transfer window. But, their quest for dominance is far from straightforward, as they must first navigate the murky waters of the transfer market and make some tough decisions about the future of their loaned-out stars first.
Specifically, we are talking about Sergiño Dest, Aster Vranckx, and Brahim Díaz, for whom Milan should/could pay 20, 12, and 22 million euros respectively to Barcelona, Wolfsburg, and Real Madrid. Of these, the player with the best chances of staying at the club for the 2023-2024 season is the Malaga-born playmaker.
Sports journalist and big Rossoneri fan Carlo Pellegatti also spoke about this potential transfer in a video published through his YouTube channel. He said these words:
"Let's talk about what could be AC Milan's first acquisition for the future. I have heard that even before the goal against Tottenham, Milan is firmly committed to seriously addressing the issue of signing Brahim Díaz. A few months ago, I was told it was too early to talk about the Spaniard's permanent transfer. But now, negotiations with Real Madrid will start almost from scratch," Pellegatti stated confidently.
"I don't think Milan intends to spend 20 to 22 million euros. There is the player's will, but above all, there is Milan's will. The Rossoneri count heavily on Brahim Díaz and consider him one of the players on which to build a great AC Milan team. He could really be their next signing. Between March and April, they will already be sitting down with Real Madrid," the sports journalist concluded, as relayed by Pianeta Milan.
