The 20-year-old attacking midfielder of Serie A side Empoli, Tommaso Baldanzi, has drawn attention from top Italian football clubs, including Napoli and AC Milan, after scoring four goals in 20 Serie A games this season.
The Milan director, Paolo Maldini, wants to continue monitoring the young talent. Then, at the end of the season, an assessment will be made to understand if Baldanzi can immediately become a Rossoneri player or if it is better to wait and postpone the decision to the summer of 2024.
There is also the possiblity of buying the player's card permanently, but returning him to Empoli immediately on loan so he can continue to play regularly in Serie A and grow further.
As per Calciomercato.com, the price is set, for now, at 15 million euros. Empoli's president Fabrizio Corsi said the following words to the media: "It depends on who asks for it. If Arsenal were to ask for him, it's one thing, and anyway, Arsenal hasn't asked us for him. If an Italian team that plays in the Champions League asks for him, the price will be different."
For their part, AC Milan will make all the necessary evaluations, one of which is to understand which of the attacking midfielders available to Pioli will remain on the roster next year. At the moment, the Rossoneri's squad includes Charles De Ketelaere, Yacine Adli, Brahim Diaz, as well as Rade Krunic and Tommaso Pobega who, although with different characteristics, can play under the forward.
Baldanzi, as a lifelong Milan fan, could seriously become a target if Brahim Diaz were to leave, for whom Milan will speak with Real Madrid at the end of the season.
AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are happy with the Spaniard. They would like to keep him permanently and will ask for a discount on the 22 million euros buy-option which was mentioned in a verbal agreement reached two years ago, but Los Blancos have other ideas at the moment. They want to bring the 23-year-old former Manchester City player back home, as per the source.
