AC Milan's head coach, Stefano Pioli, who saw his team lose 0-2 against Inter, spoke this way through the microphones of Amazon Prime Video:
"Inter played better in the first half. That's football. We made too many mistakes in the first half for this level. They scored on the first corner kick. We're sorry, we wanted a different result, but we have to believe in ourselves. We'll try to do better in the return match."
What was your idea before the match?
"The goal was to be an intense team. They won the second balls, they controlled the game because of that. I saw a great reaction, we'll show more in the return match."
Pioli on how the team should relaunch itself:
"We need to start from the second half, where the game was balanced. We need to have an energetic approach, which was lacking today. We made many mistakes, even simple ones."
He added:
"They're aware that it's not the result we wanted. There's a desire to change everything."
Pioli on the refereeing:
"I saw many situations that were half and half."
On whether Rafael Leao will be available for the next match:
"I hope he can make it."
