It has already been all finalised for a few days, but today marks the beginning of the week in which Rafael Leao‘s renewal with AC Milan until June 30, 2028, will be officially announced. This was reported this morning by the Tuttosport newspaper, which explains that the signing will take place at Casa Milan between Wednesday and Friday. It will be a great event for the Rossoneri club, the AC Milan fans, and, of course, for the player himself, who has always prioritized extending his contract with the Rossoneri.
For Leao, who will be joined in Milan by his entourage, family, and some friends in preparation for the signing in the coming days, a five-year contract is ready with a significant increase in salary: from 1.5 to 5 million euros net plus bonuses. With the new agreement, the release clause will also be raised from 150 to 175 million euros. The breakthrough in this negotiation, which has been ongoing for several months, came after finding the right solution regarding the famous fine to be paid to Sporting Lisbon, with Lille paying 19 out of the 20.5 million owed to the Portuguese club.
After the signing and renewal, Leao will have to immediately focus on the field, with AC Milan facing the last two matches of the season against Juventus and Verona, which are crucial for qualification to the next Champions League.
