AC Milan are looking for new players to reinforce the midfield area in this summer transfer window. Tuttosport, in today's print edition, has mentioned how the Rossoneri is also following an interesting player. We are talking about the Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, born in 1998, who is owned by AZ Alkmaar and recently received his first call-up to the Dutch national team, for the Final Four of the last Nations League.
An interesting fact was highlighted by the newspaper: among the owners of AZ Alkmaar, with a 5% stake, is Billy Beane, the founding father of 'Moneyball' (read more about 'Moenyball' here) concept in American baseball, and also a friend of Gerry Cardinale, the owner of AC Milan through the investment fund RedBird Capital Partners. The American owner wants to use the same system in player recruitments at AC Milan.
Apart from this particular note, it should be mentioned that the player is really quite good, actually, writes Tuttosport. In fact, Reijnders, who is valued at around 10 million euros in the transfer market, comes from an excellent season in the Netherlands, having played 54 matches with 8 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
