Nicolas Diminguez is linked with a move to join AC Milan. The Argentine midfielder of Bologna has a valid contract until the summer of 2024. The Qatar World Cup winner is of interest to the Rossoneri as a midfield reinforcement, regardless of a potential transfer of Rade Krunic to Fenerbahçe, writes Tuttosport.
The Turin-based newspaper highlighted that Milan's midfield department is currently numerically 'short'. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rade Krunic himself, and Tijjani Reijnders are the starters for now; Yunus Musah and Tommaso Pobega are the substitutes. Then there's Ismaël Bennacer who is injured and probably won't be back on the field before February 2024. If Krunic persists in requesting a transfer to Turkey, a significant gap would open up in the midfield.
Fenerbahçe is offering Krunic a contract of 3.5 million euros net per season: the Bosnian, while playing for AC Milan, earns 1.5 million. Should he leave (AC Milan demands no less than a 12-13 million euros transfer fee in order to let him go), the Rossoneri could potentially invest in Domínguez during the upcoming days of the transfer market: Bologna values him at roughly the same region (15 million). Fenerbahçe are also interested in the Argentine player, but he has postponed his decision with the Turks while waiting to understand Milan's intentions regarding him.
However, a second scenario is not excluded either. That is, AC Milan could persuade Krunic to stay, perhaps by renewing his contract with a salary adjustment, and after offloading some surplus players, they might still attempt to bring Domínguez to Milanello.
