On September 16, AC Milan will be hosted by Inter at the San Siro. There is so much anticipation for the Derby della Madonnina. We will certainly see some new acquisitions on both sides, but... what if the market soon brings about more derby matchups?
Both clubs, in fact, are keeping an eye on a number of talents to strengthen their squads. Consequently, it's not to be ruled out that both teams - as a matter of fact - are considering Jonathan David for the next season, the Canadian forward currently playing for Lille with a contract expiring in 2025. His name has been circulating in Italian clubs' notebooks for a few years, but it's in the last season that the class of 2000 player made a strong impression for the first time in his career in the goal area, with 26 goals in 40 matches.
Considering his age, characteristics, and talent, David would be the perfect fit for both Milan and Inter. Currently, though, the price is very high: we're talking about 50-60 million euros, but the contract expiring in 2025 suggests that, during the upcoming summer, there might be a market derby for the Canadian that could bring him to Milan at a lower cost. In favor of the Rossoneri, in addition to a greater spending capacity compared to their Nerazzurri counterparts, there is also an excellent relationship with the Ligue 1 club: in the past, Maignan and Leao arrived, and the legal issue involving the Portuguese player was also resolved.
