AC Milan's centre-back, Simon Kjaer, has spoken to DAZN after the humiliating 5-1 defeat in the derby. Here are his words:
"A match like this, a derby, carries a lot of weight. I'm truly sorry, especially for the fans. Inter were smarter than us in certain situations tonight, more determined. Until 3-1, we were in the game, then we lost a bit towards the end... I'm really sorry for the fans, we know how much a match like this means. Tomorrow, we have to get back to work."
Kjaer continued:
"We thought that with our strength and our way of playing, we could win as Milan. Tonight, they were good with the midfielders' runs. That's something we need to work on. Milan's path will always be to play our style of football. Tonight, we lost badly, but it's a journey. I'm sorry for the fans."
