Sandro Tonali has played his last match of the season last night. As pointed out by Corriere dello Sport reports that he has reached an agreement with the Frederal Prosecutor's Office, which should result in a suspension for the next ten months.
The former Brescia midfielder will face the consequences for his bets on football games including his team at the time, Milan. However, the Italian has struck a plea deal similar to the one made by Fagioli and it will spare him from a four-year ban instead.
An official announcement is expected very soon: Tonali will be able to return to the field only in August, once the new Premier League season starts. During the first eight months of his suspension, he will also be required to cooperate with the authorities and attend meetings to raise awareness about the world of gambling.
Additionally, Newcastle will not be paying his salary during this period, saving 13 million gross. The FIGC (Italian Football Federation) finalised all the technical details to extend the suspension within the UEFA context, effectively ending Tonali's season.
Update: It's now official, Tonali has been served with a 10-month ban.
