AC Milan's coach, Stefano Pioli, has spoken to the microphones of Sportmediaset on the eve of Milan - Paris Saint-Germain. Here are his words:
"It will be almost a do-or-die situation, considering we're talking about the Champions League. After three games, we only have two points in the standings, so we'll have to try to win this match. It's extremely challenging, especially due to the qualities of our opponents, but not impossible, so we'll have to approach it with conviction, strength, and a lot of desire."
Pioli on facing Milan tomorrow:
"It has to be the best possible Milan, the level is very high and consequently, our performance must be too. We faced them two weeks ago, we know them, but they also know us. We've seen what went well and what we need to improve for tomorrow's match. We have to try to make the most of the home advantage and the chances that come our way to put our opponents in difficulty."
He continued:
"We look ahead, but we don't forget what we failed to do on Saturday. We disappointed, it was the worst performance of the season, and we must not repeat such a performance. I coach a group with a great sense of responsibility, who knows that they're coming from a match where they couldn't put on the field what they know and can do. We disappointed our fans who have always supported us, and this will be an extra push to give our all tomorrow night."
Pioli on how his team must play against Paris Saint-Germain:
"I believe that especially for tomorrow and the aggressive attitude we expect from PSG, we'll have to play a lot of balls to our forwards, and it's clear that the more duels we manage to win, the more chances we'll have. We'll have to be a very compact team and very strong mentally, knowing that we can take risks, concede something, but at the same time, we'll have our chances to play well until the end."
On the last first leg match against the French side, Pioli said:
"In the first half, we played a good, balanced game, we even managed to take away their possession, which they usually have in all their matches. But we must maintain a high level of quality and attention, we have to stay in the game for 95 minutes. They are definitely a team that can create danger at any moment but also a team that can concede, we have to know that and stay in the game with attention, clarity, and determination because that's what we need right now."
On the frustrating result against Udinese, Pioli commented:
"The fans were disappointed because they know what kind of team we are and what kind of game we want to play, and we didn't manage to do it in the last match. We expect a completely different performance."
