Massimo Ambrosini, a former AC Milan player, said the following to Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the complicated period for the team:
"It's a complex set of factors because even the regular players have gone through difficult phases. I think of Thiaw with Juve or the drop in Reijnders' form in the last month. That said, we have to remember that Milan has undergone a lot of changes in the last transfer window: there's quality in the squad, but there's a lack of the awareness that comes with years, like what Inter has built, which is more structured. Milan is ambitious and rightfully so. If they can ease the moments of tension that have cost them points."
Massimo Ambrosini added:
"Some say Pioli has lost control of the locker room. I don't feel that way. However, I believe a coach must be adept at finding strong motivations to maintain a high level of concentration. Pioli managed that in the title-winning year. Added to this is a crucial aspect, in my opinion: at the organizational level, Milan has decided to change, creating a new structure. They've entrusted Pioli with a task that used to belong to others, burdening him with additional responsibility."
