The 'Quotidiano Sportivo', discussed AC Milan's transfer market, not only covered Mike Maignan's contract renewal with the Rossoneri club but also delved into the situations of Simon Kjaer, Luka Jović, Mattia Caldara, and Antonio Mirante.
All of them are set to become free agents on June 30, 2024.
For Antonio Mirante and Mattia Caldara, renewal seems impossible. The goalkeeper is heading towards the end of his long career at 41 years old, while the 1994-born defender doesn't fit into Stefano Pioli's technical project. Although he's currently injured, Milan will try to place Caldara elsewhere, once he's recovered, possibly in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Jović is a question mark: he has an option for a contract renewal for an additional two seasons, but it's at Milan's discretion. The decision to keep the Serbian forward, born in 1997, or not will be up to the club on Via Aldo Rossi. Currently, it's unlikely, but the season is long and surprises could arise.
As for Simon Kjaer, he has dropped in Pioli's hierarchy, now behind Malick Thiaw. Because of this, according to 'QS,' he might opt to say goodbye at the end of the season, seeking a club where he can get more playing time, as per Pianeta Milan.
