After a significant summer transfer window, once again, AC Milan might be among the most active Serie A clubs in January. Specifically, the Rossoneri need reinforcements in defense as Stefano Pioli will have to do without both Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thaiw, at least until March. The priority is a center-back, with Clement Lenglet being the top name on the list.
This morning, Corriere della Sera reported that the French player is currently on loan at Aston Villa but his card owned by Barcelona. He hasn't been playing much in England (zero appearances in the Premier League, only featured in the Conference League), so he wouldn't mind changing teams again in January.
He is now the main target for AC Milan, who was also considering advancing the arrival of Juan Miranda at Milanello, the left-back from Real Betis Sevilla already booked for the summer, but it's a very complicated scenario at the moment.
Apart from defence, Milan would like to do something in attack despite Luka Jovic showing positive signs in recent weeks. Jonathan David from Lille has been discussed for months as the preferred option for the offensive department, but his ratings are decreasing.
Exiting the Champions League has reduced the budget for the winter transfer market, making a 40-million-euro move unthinkable. Keep an eye on Serhou Guirassy, a 27-year-old Stuttgart forward who has already scored 19 goals this season: the Guinean has a release clause of 17 million euros.
