There are now news linking Rafael Leao from AC Milan to Paris Saint-Germain as he is seen as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappé who could be on his way to Real Madrid on a free transfer for the 2024-2025 season.
Today, the French outlet L'Équipe explained that Milan feels secure regarding Rafael Leao's situation. The player, on June 2, 2023, renewed his contract with the Rossoneri club until June 30, 2028.
In the agreement between the parties, there is a very high release clause of 175 million euros.
This is the reason why the Rossoneri managers, despite knowing about interest in Leao from clubs with significant financial capabilities, are 'sleeping peacefully'.
L'Équipe, confirming Téléfoot's news, explained that Leao is aware of PSG's interest in him. However, the French club directors have two options to acquire him and place him under the command of coach Luis Enrique.
The first option is to pay the release clause, effectively bypassing any negotiation with AC Milan, with the player's approval. The second option is to sit at the negotiating table with Milan's executives and present a significant offer. According to the French newspaper, in Milan's view, this offer should not be less than 100 million euros.
