Christian Pulisic, Tijjani Reijnders, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are certainly the three new summer acquisitions for Milan who have performed the best up to this point. The latest to shine is the Englishman, who was hindered in the first part of the season by physical problems, as Stefano Pioli explained a few days ago: "He is working hard, he had physical problems with pubalgia that didn't allow him to train consistently. There is too much talk about his position: without the ball, he has always played as an attacking midfielder."
In the last four league games, Loftus-Cheek has scored four goals: since the beginning of 2024, no midfielder has scored more goals than him among midfielders in the top five European leagues (only matched by Szymon Zurkowski of Empoli).
Milan cannot rely solely on the goals of the forwards, so it is crucial to have goal-scoring midfielders like Ruben, who actually plays as an attacking midfielder, somewhat similar to what Kevin Prince Boateng did a few years ago.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek like Kevin-Prince Boateng?
Today's edition of Tuttosport makes this comparison this morning, quoting the words of the former Ghanaian player: "Loftus-Cheek is very strong, he had already done excellent things at Chelsea. Italy is perfect for Ruben; Serie A lacks a player with his qualities, with his characteristics. He reminds me a bit of myself but also of Nainggolan. He is a box-to-box player, can score and assist, and is a warrior."
The Englishman has reached a total of 5 goals this season and aims to surpass his record of 10 goals in a single season, achieved in the 2018-2019 season with Sarri on the Chelsea bench, as pointed out by Milan News.
