Joan Laporta, FC Barcelona's president, has spoken exclusively to those at RAC1 and discussed the Super League project:
"In addition to Barcelona and Madrid, there would be the Italians: Inter, Milan, Napoli, and Roma. Also, French teams like Olympique de Marseille, and the three Portuguese teams, Sporting, Benfica, and Porto, would be delighted to join."
Laporta continued:
"And there are the Dutch teams (Ajax, Feyenoord, and PSV) and Club Brugge as well as Anderlecht from Belgium. A competition with 16 teams would be better," he suggests.
The president of Barcelona believes that the UEFA Champions League harms the clubs: "Players, agents, UEFA, and state champion clubs are getting richer wherever they want, while the clubs are being ruined. We don't benefit enough from the top European competition," he laments about the current format.
