Peppe Di Stefano, spoke to Sky Sport Italia as he commented on AC Milan's January transfer market as follows:

"In the press conference, Pioli had asked for another defender, besides Gabbia, and also a midfielder. Milan's market has been disappointing, considering the atmosphere within Milan. Despite trying in every way, Milan didn't want to make purchases just for the sake of it."

Di Stefano continued to talk about Milan's mercato:

"The club wanted to acquire a player for the present and the future: the name was Buongiorno. After the opportunity to sign the Torino player closed, the Rossoneri didn't want to make loan deals just for the sake of it."

He added:

"Now, however, there are difficulties, for example, related to the UEFA list. Including Thiaw, Tomori, and Kalulu, who are not yet available? It was a peculiar market; the ownership probably didn't want to push too much for incoming transfers."

Disappointment regarding the AC Milan mercato... Di Stefano said:

"Certainly, there is a bit of disappointment circulating within the Rossoneri environment. Gabbia has returned, while Terracciano arrived with the funds from the sale of Krunic. Then, there were departures of Pellegrino, Traore, and Romero."
