The AC Milan centre-forward, Olivier Giroud, spoke to Ouest-France ahead of Thursday's match against Rennes, the first leg of the playoff for access to the Europa League round of 16. During his conversation, the Rossoneri striker also recounted a behind-the-scenes story regarding his possible move to the Ligue 1 club:
"I have always appreciated Pinault (owner of Rennes), we were even neighbors for a while in London, and our wives got along well too. There has been interest from Rennes in the past, and for me, it's always a pleasure to notice this sympathy I receive in France. I love Brittany, but at the moment, going back there is not part of my plans."
