Milan considers Joshua Zirkzee as one of the main targets for the summer transfer market.
Milan knows that 37-year-old striker Olivier Giroud is strongly attracted to an experience outside of Europe for next season, and a new striker is needed anyway to add more quality there.
The Rossoneri management plans to contact both Zirkzee's agents and Bologna to discuss a possible transfer of the former Bayern Munich player in view of June: Milan's plan is to invest a total of 25 to 30 million euros and include counterparts in the operation (presumably Lorenzo Colombo) to get closer to or even exceed the total amount of 40 million euros. Milan will also use the card of Alexis Saelemaekers, who moved to Bologna in August 2023 with the formula of a loan (costing one million euros) with a buy-option right set at around 10 million euros.
There is a possibility of seeing Bayern Munich matching any type of offer that arrives: the final word is with the player, who must still give his consent to return to Germany. And as of today, it appears that the player is not inclined to return to Bayern, because he wants to be a starter, a protagonist, in his next club. The real competition - the one to be feared within the Rossoneri house - will be from the Premier League, which is a league where Zirkzee's agent has strong connections (especially Arsenal) and which could offer more, as reported by Matteo Moretto for Sosfanta.com.
