AC Milan is counting on a new addition, but not for the team of Stefano Pioli. In fact, The Rossoneri have recently hired Oldenzaler Wes Beuvink, who will become the new scout for the club starting from April 1st.
But who is Beuvink? This is a question that many Rossoneri fans are asking themselves...
Despite having no prior experience, Beuvink began working for Groningen, a team in the Dutch league, in 2019, at just 21 years old, and became the chief scout the following season. Groningen welcomed him without a proper football-related resume, but with great confidence in the analyses he conducted through his social media channels and journalistic outlets, writes Pianeta Milan.
His vision of football caught the attention of Mark-Jan Fledderus, who was the technical director of Groningen at the time, and he took a leap of faith with him. In a short time, Beuvink became a focal point for the Dutch club despite his young age (he is 25 now). Previously, while affiliated with SciSports, a scouting specialized company, he worked on profiles like those of Memphis Depay and Wout Weghorst.
Now, Beuvink seems ready for a prestigious club like Milan, and the Rossoneri themselves, as Groningen did, are ready to bet on him.
