Mario Hermoso, the central defender of Atletico Madrid whose contract expires at the end of the season, is certainly one of the most talked-about names in the market, with Inter, Milan, Juventus, and Napoli having long joined the race to sign him on a free transfer, as per Calciomercato.com.
Atlético Madrid, however, are still hoping that they can be able to renew his contract which is set to expire at the end of the season.
Hermoso's agent, Inaki Espizua, has granted an exclusive interview to those at CN24 and said these words:
"It's not certain that he will go and play elsewhere, but when a contract is signed, both parties must have a common project, and at the moment we are far from a renewal with Atletico Madrid."
The agent talked about the possibility of seeing Mario Hermoso play in Serie A:
"Mario wants to play in an important league and does not want to rule out any option. He wants to play for important trophies and objectives, he will consider any project that may come in the coming years. That is the player's aspiration. Serie A can definitely be a possibility for Mario in the coming years."
Napoli and Inter interested in Mario Hermoso? The agent confirms:
"Napoli is among the teams in Serie A that have appealing scenarios for players. Napoli is a great club, last year they won the league title and have an important history. Out of respect for all the clubs in Italy, I don't want to talk about individual clubs, but certainly Napoli is in Serie A and the Italian league can be a prestigious destination for Hermoso. Inter is also a great club, but they exited the Champions League because they left qualification open in the first leg and because it's never easy to face Atletico Madrid and the Champions League."
