Important news arrives from the club's training centre in the day after Sassuolo - Milan regarding the conditions of the Rossoneri's central defenders. In particular, regarding Simon Kjaer and Malick Thiaw who yesterday experienced, at different times during the match, physical issues.
Starting with the former Sevilla and Atalanta player, who exited immediately after the third opposing goal, injuries were ruled out after an MRI this morning. The player will begin a period of treatment lasting about a week and will then be reevaluated. Therefore, Kjaer will not be available in Rome, and his presence is also at risk for the derby next Monday.
As for Malick Thiaw, however, there is good news: no issues for the German who will be regularly available for Pioli after the cramp suffered yesterday in the final minutes.
Looking ahead to Thursday, Pioli will thus be able to count on three central defenders: Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia, who are expected to be the starters, and Malick Thiaw. Good news also regarding Mike Maignan, who worked with the group today.
