According to what was reported by Il Giorno, Milan has confirmed "the firm intention to pursue the objective of building a new stadium in the San Francesco area of the Municipality of San Donato Milanese"; this direction is supported by discussions with Francesco Squeri, mayor of San Donato, who "is ready to ask Lombardy governor Fontana to promote a program agreement aimed at obtaining approval for the construction of the new stadium and other buildings planned in the club's project in the neighboring area: a hotel, restaurants, offices, a Milan store, a museum of the Rossoneri team, a large square, and an auditorium. Before proceeding with the program agreement, however, the approval of some urban planning variations related to the area is necessary."
The AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni, through a letter addressed to Lombardy governor Attilio Fontana, expressed the hope that the administrative process of the two local authorities will quickly delve into every appropriate theme and allow the company to proceed with the planned investment.
The hypothesis of a renovation of the San Siro stadium promoted by the mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala through a study entrusted to WeBuild, which will be ready in June, therefore, does not slow down the Rossoneri's project to build their new facility in San Donato Milanese.
