After Fiorentina's extra-time success against Viktoria Plzen in the late afternoon, and with Atalanta's progression to the same round in the Europa League (a painless 1-0 defeat in the return leg), Serie A can already celebrate: there is mathematical certainty of having five Italian teams in the next edition of the UEFA Champions League, in the first year that this special ranking has been established.
The match between Roma and Milan (the Rossoneri exited the Europa League), on the other hand, didn't influence this outcome, as at least one Italian team would have bid farewell to the competition for sure.
